Just How Many Emotions Can I Use EFT On?

The simple answer is all of them. The irony being, we don’t know what they are called or how to express them or even what all of them are or if they exist.
Yes, we use EFT mostly to resolve and dissolve our negative emotions. Yet there is nothing stopping you from tapping on your ‘good’ emotions to heighten and remember the experience.
The good and bad emotions are on your own sliding scale. What is good for you may not be good for me. Some people love stress because it is a great motivator. Yet in actually fact stress does eventually harm your body. Whatever you call or label your emotion is brilliant and just for you.
In recent posts I’ve talk about the Personal Peace Procedure (PPP) and why I think EFT is so successful. There is nothing to stop you from taking the emotions I’m about to detail and doing a (PPP) on all of them. How amazing would that be? – In fact do I hear the word challenge!
For me there are 4 Primary negative emotions -Anger, Fear, Sadness and Guilt. All other negative emotions feed into one or more of these 4. There is no right or wrong way to say how they fall into each category. I just think they do.
So Why Not Just Tap On The Primary 4 Emotions?
That is not what you feel. I remember feeling ugh, I was having a bad day. Only through tapping did I realise I was feeling frustration. Yet, for me anger is the “keeper” of frustration. Yet, I wasn’t feeling angry, I was feeling frustrated.

As you can see there are many negative emotions that you could tap away with EFT. Whether you do or don’t is entirely up to you. You now have a choice to make.
You could take one a day and ask yourself the following questions. What in my life makes me Impatient? What in my life or who in my life to I blame? What am I blamed for?
Can you begin to imagine how much who will have changed in less than 60 days?

What do you suggest I do if I feel like I’m having a Healing Crisis?
As I understand it a healing crisis is when you experience symptoms from diseases and toxins that are released during your detoxification process, i.e when doing EFT. It sounds far more drastic than it is.
Although uncomfortable, it is a great sign that you are changing and letting stuff go on all levels. I’d suggest you keep tapping and do lots of it. Even if you don’t know what to tap on. Just tapping on the points helps.
You can tap on all the points or just the karate chop point or the collar bone point. They seem to be the most powerful for most people. During this time it is really important to drink lots of water. You are literally ‘flushing out’ your system.
I remember the first time I learned how to do a NLP visual squash. I led somebody through the process and they literally changed colour in front of me there and then. That just blew me away. I was also led through the process. The next day we all came into the office feeling ‘sick’. It was the first time I think any of us had done any emotional clearing work. We had all made big emotionally shifts.
I think mentally and emotionally you can literally change in a second, if not quicker. It sometimes take your body time to catch up with what has just happened. After all, you’ve been holding on to X for a long time. Then all of a sudden you let it go, you literally drop it. Your body has lost one of its crutches, that it has held onto for a long time.
Are There Any Side Effects To Doing EFT?

What can go wrong with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) ? Should I be careful of anything?
The short answer is no.
When you do EFT you are making a choice and decision to use to on yourself The same common sense rule applies to and what you use if for. If you’re helping other people, don’t go where you’re not qualified or have no experience with.
EFT does not replace conventional medicine or other therapies or anything that you want to do and use to help yourself. Yet, for many of us now it is our first port of call.
That is not to say you can’t help somebody else or yourself. You can always preface your helping with…I know this technique, I’m not sure if it will help you for your situation, but why not give it a go. I can teach it to you and you can decide if you want to use it or not.
Once you start using EFT you can become very enthusiastic and evangelical about it, why? It works, pure and simple. Once you’ve had a few champagne moments or gradual change which you can unequivocally can put down to Emotional Freedom Techniques you will use it more and more. This has certainly been my experience and the experience of others that I’ve taught it to.
Some of EFT’s biggest selling point are:
- There is no pain involved.
- You can do it anytime, anywhere and on any thing.
- The results can be long lasting.
There are so many people like you and others from so many different walks of life using EFT, why not use it yourself.
Negative Emotions
You may experience more negative emotions to star with when you begin using EFT. This is because you and your body finally go great, now I can start getting rid of some of this stuff…here you go, deal with this and this and this. Yet, this very quickly subsides.
If you want to work on one of your bigger issues that you know you have, do so as specifically as possible. Pick just one event, time, place or person that represents what you are wanting to clear.
Warning!
The biggest side effect of using EFT consistently is that you will change. Is it the change that you’re afraid of and how others will react? If so, or whatever your reason for not using EFT, you can EFT that!
EFT, Yes Try It On Everything (with a little common sense). Lets just see what happens.
Have you experienced anything negative as a direct result of doing EFT? Why do you think that was?
