I think you have to start tapping on the negatives because you have to acknowledge where you are and what you’re feeling. You’re not tapping in more negative…phew. Yet, if you start tapping on the total positive opposite, i.e. I’m confident and happy. You, your mind and body go, yeah right…***** ***.  Yes, I know this is all contrary to the popular self-help literature. Yet, you’ve seen it all play out in your life. Do affirmations work for you? Does just ‘think’ positive work for you? I doubt it.

If you are ignoring what is actually going on, i.e. the negative stuff. What are you afraid or nervous of?  You’re not nervous or afraid all the time, so when are you afraid or nervous?  Since you’re not doing that pattern of behaviour all the time. You will have triggers for feeling nervous and afraid.

I’d take each as a separate entity.

Answer this simple question – I afraid of or because…. I’m anxious of or because….

List your answers. Each answer becomes a separate round.

Even though I’m afraid of ….
Even though I’m anxious of …

Take an emotional score before you tap. Then do several rounds, then retake your emotional score.

Then if you still have some emotion left.

Start,

Even though I still have some fear…
Even though I still have some anxiety…
Even though I have this remaining fear…

Do several more rounds. The important point on all the tapping is to remain on the same ‘subject’ or issue.

Then start tapping in the positive that you want. Any if, buts and maybes. You have new rounds to tap on.

Remember, this isn’t a character flaw, you’re not broken! Your negative feelings and emotions, do serve some positive purpose, even if we don’t know what it is right now.

As every my biggest advice is tap on anything and everything. You never know which one will be your Champagne moment.

Many people say I don’t know what to tap. What should I tap on? This in itself can be a tapping phrase.

Even though I don’t know what to tap on. I deeply and completely love, forgive and accept myself.

If you do a few rounds on this. Something will come up for you to tap on. If you don’t want to tap on what comes up that is your choice.

Many of us, don’t know what to tap on because you, the tapper are afraid to use EFT to tap on what you really should do. This itself can be a phrase or 3.

Even though I’m afraid what I might discover if I let this go. I complete love and forgive myself.

Even though I have been hiding behind this issue all of my life, I choose to release myself from these bonds now and experience a fuller life.

Even though I want to keep my problem, that I’ve had for so long because it serves me a purpose that I’m not aware of.  I give myself permission to let go of this now. I deeply and complexly accept and forgive myself.

Then sometimes it seems we go round and round in circles. Tapping on the same image, event or emotion.  This is where our Fws come into play.
I’m sure you learnt these at school as part of your English lessons.You may know them for Rudyard Kipling and in his “Just So Stories” –  “Five W’s” (and one H)

I keep six honest serving-men
(They taught me all I knew);

Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who.

If you interrogate your emotion, feeling or event that you’re tapping on. More specifics will become available to you.  You can then incorporate these specifics into your rounds. As you do so, you’ll begin to notice the changes in your tapping.

What are you feeling?
Where are you/do you feel it?
Why do you feel it then and only then?
Who is there with you?
How do you feel it?
When do you do or feel it?

You can obviously expand your ‘symptoms’. What is its shape, size, location? If I’m to be you for a day. How would I ‘do/feel’ it?

Then your round could become something like;

Even though I feel/have this black hole on my upper back. I deeply and completely love, forgive and accept myself.
Even though I only feel/do/react like this when she says……
